It's quite a story how i got from movement and transformation to this image - one of the many to follow, in the realm of morphogenesis.

Movement- in a fast life >>> movement/transformation in a subject, that can later be translated into a space?? >>> mathematics? a problem always transforms, the solution/expansion of the sum looks totally different from how it started, plus math always freaked me out in school- being subjected to the strictures of the indian educational system, i put all my math-related fears aside and (sadly) studied the subject till the last year of high school- calculus, functions, all the numerical jazz that comes with it- and I did ok, but never understood why I was studying that in the first place- what is maths? when and where will I ever use calculus in my life considering my passion for design? >>> math was my fear all through high school, the lenghthy problems made me cry and now that I've kissed it goodbye, its time to touch it again but by merging it with what I love- art, design and expression- what does that lead me to?? mathart? is there such a thing? what about that dutch mathematician who was an artist? i saw his museum in the Hague and loved it- MC Escher. His optical illusions- showing infinite continuity and a never ending spire of detail inspires me greatly. He was a great mathematical artist. Are there artistic mathematicians too? how far have these two fields been merged already?

Moving on from the installation for Medecins Sans Frontieres at St Pancras International, London- here are some ideas for the final project of the final year ! :O !
I'm thinking of movement, dynamism, a constant change, transformability- why? well look at the average londoner (or even delhi-ite for that matter) rushing in tubes from home to work to pub to home to work..surrounded by flickering imagery, advertisements, zipping trains and rushing cars or rushing people- no one has a minute to stop and take a look around.. first came the mobile phone so that being able to converse while out became easy, then it had the facility to text and message, then email using your phone, then a gps system, then a camera, a video recorder, a panoramic image processor..the list goes on especially since the i-phone came around- its all about how much can you fit in one- how many varied functions can one thing perform- how much can you reach and stretch out to the farthest point to realise your true potential and live upto what a life of today's world demands. Being an interior architect isn't good enough, must know design, interior designing isn't good enough, must know graphics, graphics isn't good enough , must know (atleast the basics of) web-design, that isn't it- can I design good furniture? a good lamp? what's good, it must do more than just the one thing it's meant to, i suppose, or cheat in its appearance versus its function, it must be efficient for the one using it, it must having that zing- not look run-of-the-mill...god, I can keep writing, how can all these thoughts lead to a concept for my final project? time will tell
